All too often we focus on payment and transport as the main applications for contactless, but we shouldn’t forget the growing market in the identification and access control sector, where contactless and NFC can bring real benefits to both customers and implementers.

The events industry is closely monitoring technological advancements, hoping that new solutions can not only reduce fraudulent tickets and cut overheads, but also improve the customer experience. One such concert promoter hoping to reap these benefits, is looking to issue “smart” wristbands, that will be unique to the customer and can be used to enter a gig and even pay for food and drink. A great example of the balance that can be achieved between security and convenience.
