EU plans to set privacy framework

With more and more innovative technologies providing the basis for an increased number of complex applications, end-users continue to query the safety and security of their data, physical or factual. In response to this, a new EU project has been launched, ‘Privacy and Emerging Sciences and Technologies’ (PRESCIENT), which will set up a new framework for privacy and ethical considerations in emerging technologies and applications such as identification and biometrics.

The PRESCIENT project is made up of four partners including: Fraunhofer ISI in Germany, Trilateral Research & Consulting (UK), the Centre for Science, Society and Citizenship (Italy) and the research centre Law, Science, Technology & Society at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). You can find out more about the PRESCIENT project here.
